Privacy Policy

Account data. Your name, email address, and a securely hashed password when you create an account.

Business profile. Optional details you add (business name, type, brand voice, services, Google review link) to personalize generated replies.

Content you submit. The review text you paste (or select) and the AI-generated replies we return. We store your reply history so you can search and reuse it.

Billing data. If you subscribe, payments are processed by Paddle. We store a Paddle customer/subscription reference and your plan — we never see or store your full card details.

Usage data. Basic technical data such as request counts and rate-limit counters (including a coarse IP-based counter for the free demo) to operate and protect the service.

The LocalRepute browser extension is designed to be privacy-respecting:

What it reads. It only reads review text when you trigger it — by selecting text and clicking our button, using the right-click menu, or pasting into the popup. It does not read, log, or track your general browsing.

What it stores. Your login token is stored locally in the browser (chrome.storage.local) so you stay signed in. It is used only to authenticate your requests to our API.

What it sends. When you generate a reply, the selected/pasted review text is sent to our servers to produce reply suggestions. Nothing else is transmitted.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

To provide the core service (generate and store replies), authenticate you, personalize output using your business profile, process subscriptions, enforce usage limits, send transactional emails (email verification, welcome, account notices), and to secure and improve the product.

We share the minimum necessary with trusted processors: OpenAI (via the Emergent platform) to generate replies from the review text you submit; Paddle for payments; Resend to send transactional emails; and our cloud database/hosting provider. These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms.

We keep your account and reply history for as long as your account is active. You can delete your reply history from the dashboard, and you can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Contact).

Passwords are hashed, traffic is served over HTTPS, and access to data is restricted. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

You may access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. Depending on your location (e.g., EEA/UK/California), you may have additional rights. To exercise them, contact us and we'll respond within a reasonable timeframe.

LocalRepute is a business tool not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
